Hi folks,

I'm Logan, and here's the scoop on me and how Fitz & Sons came to be...

Originally an Illinois native, I moved to the metro Detroit area in 2006 as a Freshman at the University of Detroit Mercy and planted new roots. I fell in love with Michigan, and after college lived in both Detroit and Ferndale, with frequent trips to Farmington Hills to visit the woman I would later marry, and her parents.

Fast forward to the second half of 2025, when two significant things happened in my life. First, I parted ways with my career in the Mortgage Industry where I had been for just shy of 15 years. Secondly, our family moved to Farmington Hills from Detroit. My wife grew up here, and we knew it would be great for our young boys to do the same. 

Thinking about what came next for me, I didn't have much interest in returning to the corporate space or a desk job, so I racked my brain for something that would allow me to do a few specific things:

• Be out and about, both physically and within this wonderful community and surrounding neighborhoods.
• Provide a service to people that was unique, affordable, and valuable.
• Establish a business that had the potential to involve our boys as they grow up, and eventually even other youth in the community (as many local businesses in Farmington/Farmington Hills do) when I need to hire help.

As a dog owner for as long as I have memories, this particular task wasn't a joy. As an adult it was always hard to find the time to consistently maintain our yard to the degree our pups and children deserved between office hours + commute. I'm not ashamed to admit, it usually only got done hastily right before I had to mow. As I was contemplating career moves I thought back to my summers in grade school and high school, when I offered a similar (though much less professional) service to my childhood neighborhood. It's not glamorous, but it checked all the boxes. 

So that's the CliffsNotes of how we got here. My goal is to become your local solution for reliable, professional, and friendly dog waste pick-up. I aim to do that by doing the little things right: pricing accordingly for your needs, being consistent in quality of service and communication, and taking the utmost care with the spaces you entrust me to service for you and your pet.

Fitz & Sons went live in the spring of 2026, and I've been loving every bit of it so far. It's been wonderful to engage with fellow pet owners in the area, local pet businesses/services, and participate in events in the community. Meeting everyone and their fur balls, and even just getting to be outdoors in some beautiful yards and neighborhoods, with each service has been incredibly fulfilling already. I'm excited for both our future here as a business and as a family. 

You could say things are really starting to "pick up"...
